A delegation from the Embassy of Pakistan visited the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the Republic of Bulgaria – H.E. Mr. Marwan Alex Ayyash, accompanied by the team of the Embassy, visited the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) and met with Yancho Yanev, Chairman of HCCI on 17 February 2020.

The diplomat made a presentation about Pakistan and the great opportunities for developing economic and trade relations between the two countries. Pakistan, with a population of 210 million, has a well-developed economy, with leading industries related to textiles, leather goods, sports goods, and surgical instruments. The agrarian sector with production of exotic fruits and other food products is also well developed.

Mr. Yanev presented information about the business profile of the Haskovo region and the leading sectors: mechanical engineering, chemical industry, clothing industry, dairy and meat production, tourism and others.

The annual trade between Pakistan and Bulgaria is only $ 34 million, something that is not in line with the trade potential of the two countries. Mr Ayyash and Mr Yanev agreed to work to increase trade and develop business cooperation. They announced that they are preparing to sign a partnership agreement between the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and the Pakistani city of Quetta, Balochistan province in northern Pakistan.

Participants in the meeting said they would continue to work on developing bilateral business relations by planning joint business delegations and forums.
