A corner with books and souvenirs from Pakistan was opened at the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” National Library in Sofia, on 14th April 2022. The initiative is part of a larger idea to exchange books between national libraries in different countries.
The Director of the National Library Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krassimira Alexandrova welcomed Her Excellency Ms. Mariam Madiha Aftab, Ambassador of Pakistan to Bulgaria, with whom they opened the new literary corner:
“I thank Assoc. Prof. Krassimira Alexandrova, because it was her idea to make this corner of Pakistan in the National Library. In 2022, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence”.
The interest in the initiative is great. It is expected that more countries will be involved – as far as the spatial possibilities of the library extend.
The books and valuables donated by the participating countries can be viewed during the working hours of the National Library.
