Speaking on the occasion, Charge d’ Affaires (a.i.), Mr. Omer Manzoor Malik, while giving a brief history of the day, highlighted the ongoing Indian atrocities in IIOJ&K. He said that the government of Pakistan would continue to provide all moral and legal support to the Kashmiri people till achievement of their inalienable rights. He stressed on the need to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the will of Kashmiri people and the relevant UN Resolutions. He also appealed to all community members and Pakistani students in Bulgaria for effectively playing their role in disseminating the details of Indian atrocities in IIOJ&K to their local friends/colleagues, international media and other regional/international organizations.
The occasion also provided a good opportunity to Pakistani community members to get first-hand knowledge of situation in IIOJ&K from two Kashmiri businessmen (dual nationals of Pakistan and the UK) who recently returned from Kashmir and were invited on the occasion as guests by the Embassy.
